Teachers Throw a Party
Krygyz people love to party. Holidays like New Years, the spring No’oruz celebration, Women’s day, and Independence Day are all big deals. Children especially look forward to the festivities. Schools often give honors to achievements their students have made, and kids dress up, recite speeches, present riddles, sing traditional songs, and perform dances.
CDI teachers working in Jalalabad’s special needs education project decided their kids would be no different! They prepared costumes, practiced dances with the children, and gave awards. The party was a resounding success. CDI staff and teachers are passionate about creating opportunities for their students and proving daily that they are worthy and deserving of education, respect… and lots of fun!
